Soup PvP & Combat
Learn mushroom soup healing, hotbar management and the classic 1.8.9 fighting style.
How Soup PvP works
SoupHavoc uses classic 1.8-era combat, where positioning, aim, movement and inventory management all matter. Mushroom soup is a fast-use healing item: right-click while injured to restore 3.5 hearts. A successful use leaves an empty bowl. Soup does not heal you when your health is already full.
Hunger and food
The SoupHavoc soup mechanic also replenishes food and saturation when used. Hunger loss is tuned for the server rather than simply following default survival pacing. Exact hunger settings can be adjusted as the server is balanced.
Refilling during a fight
Keep soups in your hotbar, use one when you need health, and replace empty bowls with fresh soups from your inventory. Managing the gap between attacking and healing is one of the defining skills of Soup PvP. A fight is not just about the strongest sword: timing, movement and how efficiently you refill matter.
Teleport protection
After a teleport, a short no-attack cooldown helps prevent immediate teleport attacks. The configured default is 10 seconds. If a message says you cannot attack yet, wait for the cooldown to finish before engaging.
Tips for new players
- Practise switching between sword and soup without looking away from your opponent.
- Avoid wasting soup at full health.
- Leave inventory room for replacement soup and empty bowls.
- Expect old-school 1.8.9 combat rather than modern attack-cooldown PvP.
